Hello Fellow Readers,

This post is for those who are relatively new to Photography or thinking to go deep into it.

Well, it may sound stupid but stick with me till end to clear your concepts:

Case 1: I want to fill an empty bucket with water.

Problem: I don't have much time, What should I do?

Answer:  Very simple. Just open the tap at its fullest and let the maximum amount of water coming through it to fill the bucket in no time!

Case 1: I want to fill an empty bucket with water.

Problem: I neither have much time nor the flow of water is fast, What should I do?

Answer:  Okey!! Hmm.. Hey, there is another bucket near you with water. Oh! the water is not very clean! Its contaminated. Do one thing, keep the tap open till the time permits, let the fresh water comes even if its very less. Now, add this polluted water only as much as needed.  Because you don't have any other option!! Its better to have a bit polluted water than not having water!!

Now, you will ask, "I got all these but what is the relation between this and photography?"

Here is this:

Just replace these terms:

Water = Light

Flow of water from tap = Aperture

Time till you kept the tap open = Shutter Speed

Polluted water = ISO

So, the basic funda is use the combination of aperture and shutter speed to click the photo. Only use ISO in situation when you cannot control light with those two because it will give you the brightness but will also give you unwanted noise and grains!!

This was very very basic explanation, mind you! There are so many factors to consider for aperture and shutter speed settings such as depth of field or motion blur etc. But what I believe that this should be a good starting point for you for good photography.

Do comment.

Thanks.
